FCC imposes mandatory requirements on Part15 certificate applications

The FCC issued a notice on August 25 that when applying for the FCC Part 15 certificate, it is necessary to show how the antenna gain is calculated from the manufacturer's data sheet or measure the antenna gain. Therefore, it is required to add an antenna report to the new application for FCC ID.

Spot checks are carried out on the licensed items (the specific starting and ending time and method are not clear). If the antenna report is submitted by mail, it needs to be replied within 5 working days, otherwise the FCC ID certificate that has been applied for may be canceled.

► Necessary antenna information includes

1. The type of antenna (Dipole, Panel, etc...);

2. The frequency range of the antenna and the corresponding maximum Peak Gain value;

3. Antenna photo (STC can be done with the product). There must be a way to correspond to the corresponding size of the antenna. If there is an antenna cable, the cable length and antenna connector also need to be clearly photographed;

4. In the Antenna Data Sheet, there are relevant sensitive information (design principles, parameters, etc.), which can be deleted and separated and required to be kept confidential, while others must be disclosed;

5. If the antenna report is provided, it must meet the requirements of ISO 17025 report content, such as test method, test instrument list, test schematic diagram, test photo, etc. The report cannot be kept confidential, but the test photo can be STC.
