In the old general standard for home appliance safety IEC 60335-2-14:2014, the input power of electric appliances is only limited to the upper deviation value, as shown in the figure:
As can be seen from the table, when electric appliances are subjected to the normal temperature rise test, the load test of the motor only needs to meet the risk assessment. In the absence of dangerous conditions, the prototype is allowed to fail to reach the nominal rated power. Under such circumstances, there are many false power standards of electric appliances on the market, which has caused widespread heated discussions.
Therefore, in response to this phenomenon, in the standard IEC 60335-2-14:2016 released in 2016, there is a new restriction on the test power requirement at normal temperature rise, and this restriction will definitely be applied to kitchen electric appliances. Manufacturing has a greater impact on cost and certification.
